Applications Now Open for the Gotanda Valley Acceleration Program 2026
The Shinagawa City government has officially opened applications for the
Gotanda Valley Acceleration Program 2026, aiming to bolster startups focused on improving well-being. Starting from
May 11, 2026, this initiative promises substantial support for business growth and is designed to create a thriving ecosystem for startups and local industries alike.
Purpose of the Program
With plans that take effect from fiscal year 2026, the Shinagawa City government is committed to supporting startups as a part of its ecosystem promotion initiative. By creating a robust environment for both startups and regional industries to grow, Shinagawa aims to activate local businesses further. The
Gotanda Valley, known as a hub for startups, will play a crucial role in achieving this vision.

Program Details
- - Application Period: From May 11, 2026, to July 9, 2026. Inquiries are welcome until 5:00 PM on July 8, 2026. The program will officially commence from September 2026 and run through March 2027.
- - Target Audience: The program is tailored for startups leveraging IT to enhance well-being and seeking growth during their seed or early stages. This could include companies aspiring towards exit strategies like IPOs or M&A.
- - Eligibility Criteria: Participants should generally be within five years from inception, primarily located in Shinagawa, or planning to establish a base there. New business ventures related to existing operations or expansion into similar domains are not eligible. Students are also encouraged to apply.
- - Capacity: The program anticipates accepting around 20 startups, with options for two representatives per startup. Selection will be determined via a written application and interview.
- - Cost: Participation is free of charge, although expenses may accrue for networking events with food and drink.
