The 143rd National Management Conference: A Platform for Leaders

The Japanese Management Development Association (JMDA) and the Kansai Management Association (KMCA) proudly announce the upcoming 143rd National Management Conference, set to take place from January 21 to 23, 2026, at the prestigious Imperial Hotel Tokyo. This landmark event, celebrated for its rich history spanning 70 years, gathers approximately 400 small business leaders from all over the country to delve into strategies for navigating the turbulent future of global affairs and their impact on Japan.

Theme: Navigating 2026's Global Challenges

The central theme for this year's conference is “Navigating the Turbulent and Chaotic Global Environment in 2026 and Japan’s Path Forward.” Amidst significant geopolitical risks stemming from Trump's unconventional policies and the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, business owners are challenged from multiple perspectives. As companies grapple with rapid innovations in AI and shifting industry landscapes, the need for decisive leadership has never been more pressing.

Distinguished Speakers Gathering

Historically, the conference has boasted an impressive lineup of speakers, including notable figures such as former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Kenichi Ohmae, and Shinya Yamanaka. This year, attendees can expect to hear from an array of experts, providing insights and inspiration across various sectors.

These will include sessions on the use of generative AI, cyber security, business succession, and effective pricing negotiation strategies. Topics such as “Accelerating Digital Transformation for Small Businesses Using AI,” “Practical Course on Stock Investment for CEOs,” and “Frontline Cybersecurity Measures for Enterprises” will be covered.

Network and Grow

The event also emphasizes networking and interaction among peers. An evening reception on the first day will facilitate networking sessions, a drawing for prizes, and opportunities to connect with speakers.
