Summer Festival Highlights at Animate Ikebukuro

From July 16 to August 31, 2025, Animate Ikebukuro is hosting the vibrant event, "Summer! Festival! Animate! Ikebukuro Summer Cool Festival!" This festival not only celebrates the joy of anime, manga, and games but also features engaging activities for fans of all ages.

Copics Experience: Unleashing Creativity

The event kicked off with the "Exciting Copics Experience" on August 8, where patrons were welcomed to explore the world of Copics and other art supplies. Set in the South Building on the first floor, this experience allowed participants to get hands-on with the full range of Copics, featuring an astonishing 358 colors, alongside other supplies such as Copic Ciao and Sketch markers.

From the early hours, attendees were seen enjoying creative activities, and expert advisors were present to guide beginners through the drawing process. An additional highlight was the opportunity to decorate glass wind chimes, displayed on the fifth floor, where each chime created by participants showcased their unique artistry.

My Hero Academia Greeting Event: A Fan's Dream

On August 10 and 11, the excitement continued with the special greeting event featuring characters from the beloved anime "My Hero Academia". These heroes included Deku, Bakugo, Ochako, and All Might—heartthrobs of many fans. With the final season set to air in October 2025, there was palpable excitement in the air as fans gathered to meet their favorite characters.

As the four heroes made their entrance, the event space buzzed with energy. Fans relished in the chance to interact with them, as each character offered personalized fan services. Both days were marked by enthusiastic attendance, culminating in a grand closing for the greeting event, leaving participants with cherished memories.

Mark your calendars: the final season of "My Hero Academia" premieres on October 4, 2025, airing weekly on Saturdays at 5:30 PM across 29 stations nationwide.

Other Summer Festival Activities

The festival also features other displays aimed at enhancing the summer festival atmosphere. From July 16 to August 31, you'll find a stunning display of yukata-inspired fashion by the renowned kimono enthusiast Sankaku, showcased on floors 3 to 6. Additionally, a beautifully decorated wind chime tower will be set up on the fifth floor, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of summer while taking photos with their favorite characters.
