Insight Global's Strategic Move into Renewable Energy with Solar Initiative

Insight Global's Move Toward Sustainability

In a significant step toward sustainable business practices, Insight Global, a leading talent and consulting firm, recently embarked on its first direct clean energy initiative with the installation of a rooftop solar energy system. This project, situated in Richmond, Virginia, is a testament to the firm’s commitment to promoting renewable energy and reducing its environmental impact.

The solar installation consists of 210 panels capable of generating an impressive 112.89-kilowatt solar array, expected to produce around 156,647 kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity each year. This energy will power daily operations at the Monument Consulting office, a subsidiary of Insight Global located on Summit Avenue. Jenny Sabo, the Senior Vice President of Communications, Benefits, and ESG, stated, "We're making this investment because it's the right move for our business and the right move for the future."

Partnering with Cherry Street Energy, a power provider based in Atlanta, Insight Global has entered into a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The collaboration marks a pivotal moment for the consulting giant, allowing it to integrate sustainability into its operational framework without compromising financial viability.

Matt Aprahamian, founder of Monument Consulting, shared his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the unique opportunity to support Insight Global’s sustainability efforts through the ownership of the office building. He noted, "As IG increased our attention on sustainability and solutions, I realized I had a unique opportunity to support the company through my ownership of Monument Consulting's office building and the ability to evaluate solar energy generation from our rooftop." Aprahamian’s comments highlight the collaborative spirit that made this initiative possible, showcasing how corporate responsibility can drive impactful change in business practices.

Expanding Sustainability Initiatives

The company’s investments in renewable energy do not stop at solar power. Insight Global is actively working with clients to help them achieve their environmental goals. This includes collaborating with large, multi-site retailers to minimize waste and mitigate environmental impact associated with operational disruptions. Furthermore, they have developed specialized packaging design engineering teams to support consumer technology companies in delivering premium customer experiences while simultaneously advancing sustainability objectives.

One notable project involved assisting a major telecom company with its Regulated Waste Management (RWM) program, which aims to strengthen environmental compliance and reduce operational risks across various fields. This initiative successfully diverted thousands of materials from improper disposal, thus safeguarding the local ecosystem from harmful waste.
