2026 Ibaraki Living Satisfaction Rankings

Daito Kentaku Co., Ltd., headquartered in Minato Ward, Tokyo, has conducted one of the largest living satisfaction surveys to date. The results are shared in two segments: the "2026 Living Satisfaction Rankings for Ibaraki Prefecture" and the "2026 Most Desired Places to Live Rankings for Ibaraki Prefecture."

Highlights from the Living Satisfaction Rankings

1. Moriya City Maintains the Top Spot for Eight Consecutive Years
Moriya City has once again secured the title of the best place to live, echoing its achievement for eight straight years. Conveniently located as a bedroom community for Tokyo, residents enjoy fast access to Akihabara in as little as 32 minutes. The city boasts essential amenities, including a large shopping complex, making life convenient for its inhabitants. Furthermore, strict building regulations and greening agreements contribute to a well-maintained environment and pleasant living experience.

2. Hitachinaka City Climbs to Fourth Place
Hitachinaka City has ascended the rankings from last year's sixth place to fourth. The area around Katsuta Station is bustling with large commercial facilities, supermarkets, and healthcare options. The proximity to the national Hitachi Seaside Park, along with a Costco and other shopping centers, adds to its appeal for residents seeking convenience in their daily lives.

Note: The Living Satisfaction Rankings are compiled from accumulated responses over five years, from 2022 to 2026. In cases where the participation does not meet the necessary threshold of 50 respondents across the years, responses from prior years back to 2019 may be included to ensure a comprehensive analysis.
