Kirin City Celebrates the Taste of Kyushu
Kirin City, a renowned beer restaurant chain, is excited to announce its 13th annual "Kyushu Umami Fair". Running from February 4 to March 3, 2026, the fair will take place at all 27 locations of Kirin City and Kirin City Plus. This year, the theme of the event is "Bringing a Taste of Early Spring," designed to introduce diners to the stunning flavors from Kyushu, even in the colder month of February.
A Rich Tradition of Flavor
The Kyushu Fair first began in February 2014, spotlighting seasonal ingredients from three southern prefectures: Kumamoto, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima. Since then, every February has seen the fair expanding to feature dishes from all seven prefectures of Kyushu, showcasing the unique ingredients and culinary traditions of the region. This year marks a special milestone as the event celebrates its 13th iteration with the exciting new title, "Kyushu Umami Fair", emphasizing dishes that truly embody the flavors of Kyushu.
Featured Dishes from Each Prefecture
Including a diverse array of regional specialties, this year's menu features seven standout dishes:

Ika Shumai from Saga - Priced at ¥880, this delicate squid dumpling is made from fresh squid that is incredibly sensitive to time and the elements. Enjoy the unique, airy texture and sweet taste that has made it a local favorite.

Saramame from Nagasaki - Also priced at ¥880, these fried noodles are a twist on the traditional Nagasaki dish, adapted to the Kirin City style. They serve as a perfect accompaniment to drinks or as a full meal.
