Roppongi Art Night 2026: A Cultural Festivity Returns
The Roppongi Art Night executive committee has confirmed the highly anticipated return of its all-night art festival, occurring from
October 31 to November 1, 2026. After a three-year hiatus, the event will once again transform the streets of Roppongi into a vibrant hub for contemporary arts, allowing visitors to revel in the magical atmosphere from dusk till dawn.
Since its inception in
2009, Roppongi Art Night has showcased an eclectic mix of
contemporary art, design, music, video, and
performances, creating a unique urban art experience. This year marks a significant milestone as the festival reaches its
15th edition, continuing its legacy of urban cultural exploration. Past editions have successfully highlighted the unending energy of the city, presenting artwork in public spaces, and engaging the community.
One of this year’s highlight programs is the
RAN Focus, which spotlights artistic talent from specific countries or regions. In 2026, Paris, France, the home of the iconic
Nuit Blanche, will be the focal point. Curated by former Artistic Director
José-Manuel Gonçalvès, visitors will encounter diverse artworks ranging from installations to live performances, showcasing a rich array of both well-established and emerging artists.
In addition to featured international programming, the festival encourages local participation through its
Open Call Project, where artists from all backgrounds can submit their works to be displayed in Roppongi. This initiative, which started in
2015, has successfully featured
101 works over the years, with entries currently being accepted until
May 6, 2026.
