Toshima's Parks Welcome Unique Street Cafes

Toshima Ward in Tokyo is set to launch an exciting initiative under its community proposal system, introducing vibrant street cafes in its parks. Known for their role as relaxation spots for visitors of all ages, these green spaces will now host a series of kitchen car cafes, bringing culinary delights that vending machines simply can't compete with.

One of the highlights of this venture is the collaboration with Hotel Metropolitan, which offers its renowned ‘Rouge Teroir’ bread. This delectable treat, typically reserved for hotel guests, will now be available in the nearest park, making it accessible to everyone who wants to indulge in a taste of luxury while enjoying the outdoors.

The kitchen cars will showcase a variety of options that set them apart from usual offerings, including a sweets café truck managed by a pastry chef with over a decade of experience, as well as a food truck from a traditional wagashi (Japanese sweets) shop that boasts a remarkable 76-year history. From May through November, these diverse food trucks will rotate across several parks, ensuring that there’s always something new to enjoy.
