The Ikebukuro Montparnasse Art Museum Executive Committee has officially kicked off the 21st Ikebukuro Montparnasse Art Museum event, which runs from May 14 to May 31. This year's theme, “Hey! Creativity, Emotion, Friends – A Challenge to Authenticity,” reflects a commitment to exploring what it means to be genuine and to embody the unique essence of Ikebukuro. The guiding principle is to transform the neighborhood into a living, breathing museum where every corner offers artistic experiences.

Highlights of the Event

Among the many activities included in this biennial exhibition are the Ikebukuro Art Gathering Public Exhibition (IAG) and the Ikebukuro Wander Art Exhibition 2026, showcasing works by past winners of the IAG. Additionally, attendees are invited to engage in a whimsical, interactive experience called “The Mystical Melting Art Museum by Nyampou.” Each of these events offers a unique way to connect with art, be inspired by emerging talents, and appreciate the cultural richness of Ikebukuro.
