Nathan Campbell Named 2026 ACTFL National Language Teacher of the Year



On November 21, 2025, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) proudly revealed Nathan Campbell as the 2026 National Language Teacher of the Year. The announcement came during the Opening General Session of the 2025 ACTFL Convention World Languages Expo, held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. This prestigious award, managed by ACTFL and supported through donations to the Language Connects Foundation (LCF), recognizes exemplary educators in the field of language teaching.

Nathan Campbell currently teaches Advanced Placement Spanish at Manheim Central High School, located in Manheim, Pennsylvania. His exceptional dedication to language education had previously earned him accolades, including the 2025 Northeast Conference (NECTFL) Teacher of the Year and the 2024 Pennsylvania State Modern Languages Association (PMSLA) Teacher of the Year. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the World Languages Department Lead Facilitator, Spanish Club Advisor, co-Advisor for Capítulo de la Sabiduría and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, and organizes the World Cultures Day event.

Milton Alan Turner, the president of ACTFL's Board of Directors, expressed his warmest congratulations to Campbell upon receiving this award. He highlighted Campbell's innovative approach to teaching and his passion for language education, which not only motivate his students but also inspire fellow educators. Turner emphasized that Nathan embodies the spirit of excellence that propels the language teaching profession forward.
