MetaVia Unveils Innovative Data on Obesity Treatments at ADA 2026 Scientific Sessions



MetaVia Inc. recently presented exciting new findings regarding obesity and metabolic disorders at the American Diabetes Association's 2026 Scientific Sessions in New Orleans, held from June 5 to June 8. As a company committed to reshaping the landscape of cardiometabolic disease interventions, MetaVia's focus on their pipeline products, DA-1726 and vanoglipel, stood out amid critical discussions and presentations.

DA-1726: A Novel Approach to Weight Loss



The spotlight was on DA-1726 during the sessions, highlighting its performance in a Phase 1 trial. DA-1726 is a dual agonist that targets both glucagon-like peptide-1 receptors (GLP1R) and glucagon receptors (GCGR). The trial revealed that participants achieved an impressive average reduction in body weight of 9.1% by Day 54 at the 48 mg dosage level, demonstrating no signs of reaching a plateau in weight loss, which is crucial for its long-term effectiveness. Participants also saw significant reductions in waist circumference and BMI, important factors in assessing obesity and metabolic health.
