Tamarokuto Week: A Celebration of Local Culture and Science
The Tamarokuto Science Museum located in Nishitokyo City, Tokyo, is set to host its exciting event called
Tamarokuto Week from
December 2 to December 21, 2025. This special event showcases the allure of five nearby cities; Kodaira, Higashimurayama, Kiyose, Higashikurume, and Nishitokyo, all of which contribute to the museum's operations.
During this period, citizens from these five cities are welcomed with a
50% discount on admission fees, making this a perfect opportunity for local residents to explore and enjoy the museum's offerings. Visitors are encouraged to present proof of residence, employment, or education from the specified cities when purchasing tickets.

Free Shuttle Bus Service
To make the event more accessible, a
free shuttle bus service will operate for one day from each participating city, allowing everyone to take advantage of the festivities comfortably. The scheduled routes are as follows:

“Stars of the Jomon Period” on December 20 (Saturday) from 3:50 PM to 4:35 PM. This event will guide attendees through the astronomical observations of ancient residents from 13,000 years ago.
“Let’s Look Back at the History of Kiyose and Higashikurume Cities” on December 20 (Saturday) from 5:10 PM to 6:40 PM. This lecture features archaeological experts discussing hidden historic treasures and cultural artifacts within local cities. Tamarokuto Specialty Market
In addition, the museum will showcase a
Tamarokuto Specialty Market featuring 15 local vendors from the five cities. Patrons can discover and purchase unique regional products that reflect the diverse culture and heritage of the area.
