EYE VDJ MASA and VISIONOID Collaboration at Japan Mobility Show 2025

VISIONOID Co., Ltd. is excited to announce its participation in the upcoming Japan Mobility Show 2025, scheduled to take place at Tokyo Big Sight from October 29 to November 9.Highlighted in this event will be the Tokyo Future Tour 2035, offering an early glimpse into the thrilling advancements of mobility anticipated in the near future.

Exciting Showcase of Technologies

This year’s expo will feature VISIONOID's groundbreaking animanoid called FOX, which represents the cutting-edge fusion of technology and human expression. The stage will include a live performance by EYE VDJ MASA (Masatane Mutou), a body augmentation artist and CEO of the general incorporated association WITH ALS. MASA will showcase an innovative act where brain waves control a robotic arm, while eye movements manipulate sound and visuals, showcasing a unique blend of artistic expression and technology.

These performances are made possible with support from the Keio University Graduate School of Media Design through Project Cybernetic Being. This initiative explores the potential of brain waves, gaze tracking, and AI robotics to create groundbreaking forms of bodily expansion. By utilizing a Brain-Machine Interface (BMI), MASA’s brain activity will be analyzed in real-time to generate control signals for the robotic arm.

A Glimpse into the Future

At the Tokyo Future Tour 2035, attendees will witness the synchronization of consciousness, gaze, and machines, resulting in an “extended expression” that transcends the physical limitations of the human body. With the help of AI, the animanoid FOX will react to MASA’s movements and music, crafting a lifelike drama on the ROBOT MUSICAL stage, illustrating the resonance between human will and technology.

This project builds on the success of the brain-controlled robotic arm showcased at the Osaka-Kansai Expo under the theme Sports Future Lab. It challenges the question of how far technology can authentically express human emotions and intentions.

Masatane Mutou (EYE VDJ MASA): Born in Los Angeles in 1986, MASA works as a communication creator and leads the association WITH ALS that focuses on tackling challenges associated with ALS through technology and creativity. His performances, including those at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic opening ceremony, have received acclaim both domestically and internationally.

Animanoid FOX: Developed by VISIONOID, FOX is an advanced animanoid that combines emotional expression with intelligent responses. Equipped with AI, it interacts naturally, embodying a vision of coexistence between humans and robots.
