Accelerate Announces Grant Winners for Innovative Student Learning Solutions Nationwide

In a significant step towards enhancing educational outcomes, Accelerate has revealed the recipients of its latest grant programs, the Call for Effective Technology (CET) and Evidence for Impact (EFI). Chosen from over 160 submissions, 14 innovative tutoring and educational technology organizations will utilize research-backed strategies to support schools across the United States. These grants aim to tackle historical inequities in educational access and effectiveness, particularly in underserved communities.

The CET program focuses on integrating AI-enabled learning tools into public school classrooms for the school year 2025-26. This initiative aims to empower teachers with advanced technology to tailor instruction to individual student needs and manage their teaching time more efficiently. The selected projects showcase a diverse range of promising educational technology, such as immersive virtual reality for language instruction, voice-assisted math tutoring, and generative AI systems that offer writing feedback and personalized learning pathways for reading and mathematics. By combining tech solutions with rigorous evaluation from independent research partners, the CET program seeks to provide robust data on usability and educational impact.

The grant amounts vary from $150,000 to $200,000, reflecting the commitment to foster innovative educational practices. Among the notable 2025 CET grantees are ALTER Math from the University of Utah, EnlightenAI, and Varsity Tutors, each bringing unique tools to enhance classroom learning experiences.

The EFI category focuses on high-dosage tutoring strategies integrated directly into the school day. This model emphasizes frequent, personalized tutoring through one-on-one sessions or small groups, making education more accessible and tailored to student needs. The grantees will research the most effective methods of high-dosage tutoring, investigating which students benefit the most, the subjects they excel in, and the most effective group sizes or session times. Each EFI grant may receive up to $250,000 for implementation, which will also be underpinned by independent evaluations funded by Accelerate.

The 2025 EFI grantees include key players such as Carnegie Learning, Math-A-Matics Tutoring, and Tutored by Teachers, all committed to exploring and optimizing high-impact tutoring models.

Additionally, the research culminates in collaborations with top educational institutions, including Harvard and Johns Hopkins Universities, to ensure comprehensive data analysis and standard compliance for the interventions. Accelerate’s approach promises to turn effective educational research into tangible results in classrooms nationwide. This aligns with the nonprofit's mission to bridge the gap between effective research and practical application in schools.

Furthermore, Accelerate is a significant stakeholder in supporting educational reform and equity across the US. Since its inception, it has funneled grants into over 75 programs across 29 states, contributing to a rich repository of research studies—including more than 21 randomized controlled trials.
