Yonkers Steps into the Limelight
Yonkers, New York has taken a bold step into the spotlight of the entertainment industry with the launch of a stunning digital billboard in the bustling heart of Times Square, marking its transformation into what is now being dubbed 'Hollywood on Hudson.' This eye-catching advertisement was revealed on July 1, 2025, by Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano alongside Robert Halmi, an Emmy Award-winning producer and founder of Great Point Studios.
The initiative represents a culmination of Yonkers' ambitious vision that has developed over more than a decade, turning the city into a flourishing hub for film and television production. According to Mayor Spano, "What started out as a vision has turned Yonkers into Hollywood on Hudson. Yonkers is now home to the single largest TV and film production site in the Northeast."
The billboard itself is an impressive sight, featuring a high-definition LED screen that measures a whopping 56 feet wide by 29 feet high, prominently positioned five stories above the northeast corner of Broadway and West 43rd Street. As a part of New York's iconic Times Square, which draws in over 250,000 visitors each day, this vibrant advertisement will run six times an hour, airing 20 hours a day over a three-month period, effectively showcasing Yonkers' burgeoning film and television industry.

The city is also home to Lionsgate Studios' expansive one million-square-foot complex, regarded as the largest TV and film production site in the region.
In conjunction with the billboard launch, the City of Yonkers has rolled out a comprehensive multi-platform advertising campaign aimed at reinforcing its identity as 'Hollywood on Hudson.' This ambitious campaign features television commercials, advertisements on bus exteriors, MTA car cards on trains, and an active social media presence.
Recent productions filmed in Yonkers have included high-profile projects such as the acclaimed series "Dexter" for Paramount+, the vibrant comedy-drama "Run The World" for Starz, the gripping series "Raising Kanan" also for Starz, and the Golden Globe-winning show "The Penguin" starring Colin Farrell.
