The 74th Nikon Photo Contest Open for Entries
The 74th edition of the Nikon Photo Contest is officially accepting submissions, a prestigious event organized by Nikon Imaging Japan, a subsidiary of Nikon Corporation. The contest was inaugurated in 1953 and has continually enjoyed a rich history of diverse photography contributions from both amateur and professional photographers, welcoming entries from anyone, regardless of their equipment.
This year, the contest has expanded its categories to encourage broader participation. While last year's online submissions were restricted to a single category, this time it introduces three categories for the Web section: “Open,” “Nature,” and “Under 35” (all single images). The Print section retains its categories of “Open,” “Nature,” and “Junior & Senior High School Students” (all single and photo series). This leads to a total of two sections and six categories for submissions in this year’s event, aiming to attract a wide array of creative photographic works.
Each submission will undergo rigorous evaluation by experienced judges, including renowned professional photographers and editors from digital camera magazines. Awards will recognize exceptional works in each category with Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mentions. Additionally, an overall champion will be selected as the “Grand Prix,” receiving a prize of 500,000 yen along with the display of a Nikon Z8 camera.
Winning pieces will be showcased in a dedicated exhibition at Nikon Plaza in Tokyo and Osaka, specifically in “THE GALLERY” venue.
