DB HiTek's Strategic Entry into the Indian Market at Electronica India 2026
DB HiTek’s Strategic Debut at Electronica India 2026
In an exciting development for the semiconductor industry, DB HiTek, a leading South Korean foundry specializing in 8-inch chips, has announced its participation in Electronica India 2026. Scheduled to take place from September 16 to 18 in Bengaluru—often regarded as India's Silicon Valley—the event represents a significant opportunity for the company to strengthen its foothold in the rapidly evolving Indian market.
Strengthening Local Ties
DB HiTek's primary goal at this exhibition is to enhance relationships with local clients and expand its market presence in India. The event itself is the largest trade show in South Asia dedicated to electronics, showcasing components, systems, and applications alongside related solutions. DB HiTek intends to leverage this platform to present its cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, notably its flagship BCD (Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) process, and advance its power semiconductor offerings based on SiC (Silicon Carbide) and GaN (Gallium Nitride).
As India's semiconductor ecosystem experiences accelerated growth, driven by robust governmental support and significant investments, local companies are transitioning from chip design services to developing their own semiconductor products. This trend is expected to enhance the demand for foundry services, and DB HiTek aims to capitalize on this momentum by initiating new collaborations with fabless enterprises.
Pioneering Semiconductor Technologies
At the heart of DB HiTek's offerings at Electronica India will be its advancements in power semiconductor manufacturing. The BCD process has delivered over 9 million wafers to date, showcasing the company’s extensive capabilities in high-volume production and expertise in high-value applications within automotive and industrial sectors.
Moreover, DB HiTek is set to highlight its work on next-generation SiC and GaN power semiconductors and provide details on its roadmap for mass production. Notably, DB HiTek has recently qualified its 1,200V SiC MOSFET manufacturing process and aims to finalize the qualification for its 650V GaN process by December of this year, with performance evaluations underway for strategic clients.
DB HiTek will also introduce specialized process technologies, including X-ray technologies and global shutter mechanisms, as well as SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Diode) and various other specialized CIS technologies. With these innovations, the company aims to broaden its customer base in the region, reaching a wider array of stakeholders in the semiconductor marketplace.
A Growing Market with Vast Potential
"India is a rapidly growing market, where the burgeoning fabless companies and the semiconductor ecosystem create new business opportunities," a spokesperson from DB HiTek remarked. Emphasizing the importance of the event, they added, "Through our participation in Electronica India, we aim to solidify our commitment to local customers and continue identifying new business opportunities utilizing our strengths in power semiconductors and specialized processes."
As the landscape of global semiconductor manufacturing continues to shift, DB HiTek's strategic entry into India at this pivotal trade show could mark the beginning of a fruitful partnership with local entities and a significant step towards redefining its competitive edge in a key market.
The participation promises not only to expand DB HiTek’s operational capabilities but also to contribute to the overall growth of India's semiconductor industry, reinforcing its role as a critical player in the global electronics supply chain.
