Fukusuke Joins Edo Culture Revival Project for Nihonbashiza Theater

Fukusuke at the Nihonbashiza Theater Project

Fukusuke Co., Ltd., based in Koto City, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce its participation in a unique event celebrating the Edo period, taking place on March 29, 2026, at EDOCCO STUDIO in Chiyoda, Tokyo. This event is part of the Nihonbashiza establishment project, aimed at revitalizing Edo culture and nurturing young talents in traditional Japanese arts.

The event is hosted by the Chiyoda Central Cultural Exchange Promotion Organization. It aims to position the new Nihonbashiza as a permanent theater dedicated to traditional performances, making it a pillar for cultural exchange and economic revitalization in the Nihonbashi area, historically known as a center for traditional arts.

As part of this initiative, attendees will enjoy live shows and talk sessions by leading figures in the traditional arts community, fostering a connection between contemporary and historical culture. The inaugural event will feature special performances from the Japanese-Western music unit, Shiratorigami, and a stunning lineup of kabuki stars, including Nakamura Shikan and Toba-ya Sanemon, along with engaging discussions.

In addition to the captivating performances, the event promises delightful dining options, featuring traditional Japanese cuisine that complements the theatrical experience. Attendees can explore merchandise stalls offering various items, ranging from goods related to the performers to souvenirs, making this a fantastic chance to immerse oneself in Edo culture.

At our booth, Fukusuke will showcase a variety of items, including the famous Fukusuke tabi (traditional split-toed socks) and products from our lifestyle brand Tabeez, which leverages our expertise in tabi-making. The event will also introduce original Fukusuke figurine capsule toys, which hark back to the Edo era's belief in their power to bring good fortune and prosperity in business and personal growth.

Visitors will experience not just the entertainment but also the essence of Edo culture. Our philosophy of bringing “Fuku” (blessings) to everyone through our products and stores continues to thrive at this event.
