He melds Pueblo aesthetics with modern techniques, creating a unique style that resonates with themes of identity, cultural heritage, history, and activism. Fragua’s works often highlight critical issues faced by indigenous communities, inviting viewers to reflect on the intricate narratives and struggles behind his art.

The exhibition at Roppongi Tsutaya promises not only to showcase canvas paintings adorned with traditional patterns but also to unveil exciting new creations that he finalized for this event. Each piece is a vivid expression of his perspectives, ensuring that audiences appreciate and interact with the cultural dialogues portrayed through his art.

Event Details

The art show will be held on the 2nd floor of Roppongi Tsutaya, specifically in the SHARE LOUNGE area, and will be open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. The exhibition opens with a special early access on October 17, when ticket sales will commence at 12:00 PM. Art enthusiasts are encouraged to visit during the event's operational hours, as the venue remains accessible to all visitors. Note that entry to SHARE LOUNGE requires a fee.

Beyond viewing, those interested in purchasing artworks must schedule an appointment in advance. This measure ensures a smooth and personalized experience as they acquire unique pieces from the exhibit. Each customer may only purchase one item to maintain the exclusive nature of the artwork distribution. After the exhibition wraps up, purchased items will be delivered within Japan, though potential buyers from abroad may discuss arrangement options directly with the Tsutaya team via email.

Meet the Artist

Throughout the exhibition, from October 17 to 19, dedicated staff members from CORNERS, which collaborated with Tsutaya in organizing this event, will be present to guide visitors through the artworks and share insights about Fragua’s inspirations and techniques. This is a rare opportunity for attendees to engage in conversations with knowledgeable representatives who can provide deeper contexts surrounding the displayed pieces.
