Embarking on a Creative Journey at TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026

A Creative Experience in Shinjuku at TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026

On March 13, 2026, the highly anticipated "TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026" (TCS 2026) kicked off in the bustling district of Shinjuku. This event stands as one of the largest creative festivals in Japan, showcasing a collision of diverse values that resonate with the heart of Tokyo. TCS 2026 seeks to connect Shinjuku's past, present, and future through a rich tapestry of creativity, primarily focusing on dyeing and vintage fashion programs.

As part of its eclectic offerings, TCS 2026 invites students from local fashion schools to experience sustainability and creativity. These young talents are producing innovative works, presenting them to the world directly from Shinjuku. Central to this event is stylist Manabu Harada, who curates a unique vintage market, showcasing some of the finest pieces that celebrate history and artistry in fashion.

The first weekend of the festival featured a highly engaging fashion event named "SHINJUKU SO/ME/RU RUNWAY," held on March 14. This event took place on a specially set-up stage in front of the southeast exit of Shinjuku Station. It was an extraordinary collaboration between students from the International Fashion Professional College and Tokyo Mode Gakuen. These aspiring designers creatively blended dyed materials sourced from local workshops with vintage clothing, showcasing their creations themed around "sakura" on the Shinjuku runway. The event exemplified a day steeped in sustainable fashion and artistic expression, drawing crowds who appreciated the intersection of creativity and ecological awareness.

Moreover, the "Shinjuku Vintage Market" has become a focal point for vintage fashion enthusiasts. Guided by the seasoned direction of Harada, the market features four standout vendors: GLEEFUL, PATINAS VINTAGE CLOSET, dracaena, and TREDICI. Each booth is bursting with rare, historically significant fashion pieces and furniture, drawing attention from both locals and tourists. Open until March 24, the Shinjuku Vintage Market is billed as a not-to-miss experience for those looking to explore the cultural crossroads of dyeing culture and vintage fashion prevalent in this vibrant area.
