Artist Park Project Vol. 7
On December 6, 2025, The Chain Museum will host the seventh installment of the Artist Park Project at their gallery-restaurant, known as "Art or Bifun Paichu" in Roppongi, Tokyo. This event invites artists to connect and engage in an enlightening discussion about their craft and the art world.
In this edition, acclaimed artist
Daisuke Ohba will be the featured guest, discussing the theme "Living as a Painter". The event will take place from
6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, with Ohba’s talk scheduled for the first hour, followed by a networking session. The venue will open its doors at
6:20 PM, and entry is free, although pre-registration is required due to limited seating for 25 attendees.
About Daisuke Ohba
Daisuke Ohba was born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1981 and has established himself as a significant contemporary painter. He received his master's degree in oil painting from the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2007. Ohba challenges perceptions of painting by viewing it as a "field of light". His practice invites viewers to reconsider the act of seeing and the underlying structures of images, breaking down perceptual frameworks that inform our understanding. He explores elements such as light, space, and relationships, interrogating the essence of visual experience.
Recent exhibitions featuring Ohba’s work include "Flare" at Tiger Gallery in London (2024) and "Sense of Wonder: Experiencing Art Through Sensation" at Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art (2023). He has also participated in a prominent project with Christian Dior, reinterpreting the brand's iconic bags and creating a mural for the House of Dior in Ginza, as well as large paintings at the newly opened Toranomon Hills Station Tower in Tokyo.
