Introduction of the Youth Expo

On February 4, 2026, Shibuya will host the highly anticipated Youth Expo organized by the NEXT Expo Executive Committee, comprising THE PASSION Co., Ltd. and the Japan Youth Career Support Association. This initiative is aimed at extending the momentum from the Osaka-Kansai Expo and inspiring the next generation to shape a future society that will be represented at the 2027 International Horticultural Expo (GREEN×EXPO2027). The event seeks to facilitate new collaborations among companies, organizations, and attendees, centering on the perspectives and ideas of young people.

Highlights of Youth Expo

Interactive Workshops

Participants can engage in two hands-on workshops that were showcased at previous expos.
1. Washi Craft Workshop: Experience traditional Japanese culture by crafting decorative cord (mizuhiki) under the guidance of the Culture Class.
2. Diversity Board Game: A globe-trotting experience through a unique board game, empowering attendees to connect with diverse cultures by the Multicultural Understanding Team.

Brainstorming Zones

A space dedicated to the future of content creation, where young innovators can share their exciting ideas. Participants are encouraged to contribute to the “Cool Ideas” board, sparking discussions on what 'fun' looks like in the coming years.

The Legacy of the Kansai Expo

The KU NEXPO group — previously the Kansai Expo Club — will showcase how they energized the expo scene and their vision for future events. Attendees will discover the impact of student involvement in shaping exciting experiences.

What is NEXT Expo?

NEXT Expo originated as an unofficial project to keep the excitement from the Osaka-Kansai Expo alive. The organization strives to carry forward the spirit of designing a vibrant future society by not allowing the expo experience to be merely temporary. Both offline and online events are organized, gearing up for GREEN×EXPO2027 and anticipating exciting participation in the Riyadh Expo 2030 and any potential future international expos in Japan. Their motto, ‘NEXT Expo Generation,’ aims to unite youth interests and collaborative efforts.
