Infostellar Collaborates with SSC Space to Support Seiren's FUSION-1 Satellite Mission

Infostellar: Supporting Seiren's FUSION-1 Mission with Global Ground Station Services

Infostellar, a Japanese company known for its innovative satellite ground segment solutions, has announced an exciting partnership with SSC Space, a Swedish space infrastructure firm, and Seiren, a leader in small satellite development. This collaboration debuts a new chapter in satellite communications by employing Infostellar’s StellarStation platform alongside SSC Space’s global ground station network to provide comprehensive communication support for Seiren's FUSION-1 satellite mission.

The FUSION-1 mission leverages Infostellar's virtualized ground station platform, StellarStation, which connects to SSC Space’s specialized service, SSC Space Go. This service is designed specifically for small satellite constellations, making it the perfect fit for Seiren’s innovative approach to satellite operations. With the growing demand for small satellite constellations and the utilization of satellite data in Japan, this collaboration marks a pivotal advancement in Japan's ability to construct flexible ground station networks capable of supporting such operations.

As CEO Naomi Kurahara of Infostellar expressed, their collaboration with SSC Space to assist Seiren’s FUSION-1 mission is a remarkable opportunity. The connection of SSC Space Go to Infostellar’s cloud platform, StellarStation, provides users access to a broad range of services that enhance operational capabilities for satellite missions. Infostellar is committed to working closely with SSC Space in offering high-reliability ground station services that are accessible and expedient.

Makoto Kanazawa, who leads SSC Space's Japanese operations, added, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Seiren and Infostellar on this initiative. It serves as a significant milestone for our newly launched small satellite service, SSC Space Go, reinforcing our commitment to the Japanese space industry.” SSC Space has plans to deepen its involvement in Japan, including the establishment of a local subsidiary by 2026, to further enhance the communication infrastructure for Japanese satellite operators by utilizing their extensive global ground station network.

On the other hand, Seiren has been proactive in the mass production of small satellites and is expanding its service range through the FUSION-1 mission, which integrates satellite operation with communications. This collaboration with SSC Space and Infostellar creates robust conditions for enhancing satellite operations by tapping into global ground station networks, ultimately striving to improve the value of services harnessed from satellite operations.

Seiren’s President, Hidetoshi Yamada, discussed the excitement surrounding this new venture, noting it paves the way for broader developments in Japan's satellite constellation sector. The collaboration is aligned with the FUSION project, which receives government support and promotes advancements in satellite operations and ground station network utilization through partnerships among diverse sectors including academia, government, and industry within Fukui Prefecture.
