The play revolves around the Bliss family—an eccentric and chaotic group of individuals living in their country house. At the centre of it all are Judith, a former actress, David, a writer, and their free-spirited children, Simon and Sorel. During one typical chaotic weekend, they each invite their guests without informing the others. This leads to a whirlwind of humorous situations as their self-centered antics turn the house upside down.

As each guest arrives, they find themselves backed into a corner by the Bliss family dynamics, showcasing a brilliant mix of emotional outbursts, theatrical disputes, and unexpected romantic declarations. The guests, initially looking to enjoy a pleasant visit, soon plot to escape the delightful madness unfolding before them.
