Over the course of four days, attendees will immerse themselves in groundbreaking performances that blend technology with artistic expression. With the theme “Exploring the Unknown Possibilities of Consciousness through the Resonance of Technological Evolution and Creativity,” the festival promises to deliver an unforgettable auditory and visual experience that transcends the ordinary.

Highlights of MUTEK.JP 2025


This year’s festival showcases an impressive lineup featuring over 20 international and domestic artists. Attendees can expect a diverse array of performances that showcase innovative audiovisual techniques and experimental soundscapes. Among the featured acts are:
  • - Alva Noto, a leading figure in contemporary electronic music, known for his unique audio-visual sets that merge sound and visuals seamlessly.
  • - Daito Manabe, who will present a mesmerizing audiovisual performance that captivated audiences at the Sónar Festival in Barcelona.
  • - GEZAN, a prominent Japanese alternative rock band known for their distinctive style.
  • - The experimental ensemble goat, led by Hiroshi Hino, reinterpreting programmed polyrhythms with a human touch.
  • - A special ambient live performance by Kyoka and Manami Kusakari from Sakanaction.
  • - NONOTAK, an art unit based in Paris, returning to deliver a stunning visual performance.
  • - Marie Davidson, a Grammy-nominated artist, making her much-anticipated debut in Japan.

During the daytime, venue Shibuya Hikarie Hall B will host the MUTEK.JP Pro Conference, featuring panel discussions and talks focused on the relationship between cutting-edge technology and digital artistry.
