On October 3rd (Saturday) and October 12th (public holiday), 2023, the PalSystem Cooperative Union will be hosting a unique job experience program aimed at elementary school students and their parents. Taking place at a logistics and IT experiential facility located in Inagi City, Tokyo, this event provides an opportunity to discover the mechanisms behind home delivery services.

Participants will get an exclusive inside look at how items ordered through the cooperative reach their homes, featuring state-of-the-art sorting machinery that is used in the logistics center of PalSystem. Utilizing original videos, panels, and tablets, this hour-long program promises a fun and educational experience.

Unveiling the Delivery Process

The job experience facility is equipped with an actual sorting machine and various interactive materials. Attendees will learn about the logistics processes that deliver over ten million items weekly to 800,000 households. This initiative not only educates participants on the logistics involved but also highlights the role of digitalization in modern society.

Sustainability is a crucial theme in PalSystem’s delivery system, which optimizes pre-orders and takes back recyclables at the time of delivery. This model helps in minimizing food waste and promoting resource recycling, thus demonstrating high levels of sustainability. Through hands-on experiences, both children and adults will understand the importance of IT and logistics in supporting society.

Since launching job experience programs in 2023, PalSystem has welcomed over 2,100 participants, including students from local schools. Many children have shared their excitement about the program, stating how interesting it was to shop using tablets and expressing their desire for more experiences. Parents have also praised the initiative, remarking on its educational value and how it has sparked their children’s interest in food.

Surveys conducted after the event reported that nearly 94% of participants expressed satisfaction, with 68.5% indicating they were
