A recent study conducted by D4c Academy sheds light on the anxieties of white-collar workers regarding their career advancement in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). The survey, which targeted employees in their 20s to 50s, reveals a concerning trend: over 70% of participants are not taking any actions to improve their careers despite widespread fears about job displacement and skill obsolescence due to AI advancements.

Background of the Study



As AI technology rapidly evolves, many in the workforce are beginning to feel unease about their professional relevance. There is a growing concern that individual skills may become outdated, necessitating a continuous learning process to maintain or enhance one’s market value. However, despite recognizing this necessity, the majority of respondents appear to be lacking the motivation or direction to take proactive steps toward career development.

The survey was carried out between September 22 and September 25, 2025, and involved 333 people working in white-collar positions. Conducted via the internet, it aimed to capture the changing landscape of employee concerns regarding the impact of AI on their careers.
