Vesper Energy Welcomes Monica Opderbeck as Senior VP of Corporate Development

In an exciting development for the renewable energy initiative in the U.S., Vesper Energy has announced the appointment of Monica Opderbeck as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. This key role will see her steer the strategic plans aimed at enhancing corporate growth as the company strives to expand its footprint in utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Monica Opderbeck brings over 16 years of invaluable experience to her new role, having worked extensively within the energy sector. Her background encompasses both the investor and independent power producer perspectives, providing her with a well-rounded view of the challenges and opportunities that lie within the energy market. Commenting on her new position, Opderbeck expressed enthusiasm about joining a talented team led by Juan Suarez and Mark Rostafin, who have firmly established Vesper Energy in the industry with a robust portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage assets.

"Vesper Energy has built a strong market reputation and an appealing pipeline of projects that will catapult the company to the next stage of growth," she stated. Her focus will be on overseeing strategic initiatives that drive corporate advancement and build on the solid foundation established by the previous leadership.

Her expertise in principal investing, capital raising, financing, business development, and strategic deal execution makes her a significant asset to Vesper Energy. Prior to her tenure at Vesper, Opderbeck excelled at Pattern Energy Group, most recently as Head of Commercial Origination for North America's development pipeline. There, she played a pivotal role in closing substantial deals that advanced strategic initiatives and expanded the company's renewable energy portfolio. Her extensive experience culminated during her 12 years at Wells Fargo, where her work primarily revolved around renewable energy Tax Equity investments.

Mark Rostafin, Co-CEO of Vesper Energy, praised Opderbeck's proven leadership and expertise in renewable energy finance and corporate strategy. "Her strong relationships with top-tier financial partners will accelerate our growth and support our mission to create better energy infrastructure," he said.

As Vesper Energy continues to provide innovative solutions to today's complex energy challenges, this appointment is timely. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, the company has delivered over 10 GW of renewable energy projects globally and now aims to reach greater heights with a development pipeline that includes 55 renewable energy and energy storage assets capable of generating 17 GW—enough power for more than two million homes.

The energy landscape is rapidly evolving, and with experts like Opderbeck at the helm of corporate development, Vesper Energy is poised to navigate these changes effectively while contributing to sustainable energy practices across the United States. The company remains committed to working collaboratively with customers, communities, and business partners to enhance energy infrastructure and drive the renewable energy transition forward.
