The 24th RELO CLUB All Japan Corporate Golf Tournament
On September 13, 2025, the picturesque Shizuoka Country Hamaoka Course & Hotel played host to the nation's largest corporate golf tournament, the 24th RELO CLUB All Japan Corporate Golf Tournament, also known as the "Recruit Cup 2025 Summer Team Championship." Organized by
RELO CLUB, a pioneer of employee welfare outsourcing services in Japan, this prestigious competition brought together 83 teams, totaling 331 participants, from various regions that had qualified in the previous rounds.
Despite the heavy rain forecast, the day began with a surprising sunrise peeking through the clouds, only to be interrupted by sporadic downpours. As a precautionary measure, the decision was made to shorten the tournament to 9 holes. This created a unique atmosphere where teams competed fiercely under uncertain conditions.
Intense Competition and Spectacular Outcomes
The match format included two starting groups: the
Takamatsu OUT / Ogasawara IN and
Takamatsu IN / Ogasawara OUT. Despite the harsh weather, the competition was thrilling, showing that the rain did not dampen the players' spirits. In the Takamatsu OUT / Ogasawara IN group, four teams, including
Bungotopran,
Sumitomo Rubber Industries,
Tosoh, and
Aisan Industry, tied with a score of 151 strokes (an average of 37.75 per player). According to tournament regulations, the team with the highest-ranking player decided the overall winner.
Bungotopran clinched the championship for the second time, thanks to
Goto's impressive score of 34, two under par.
Meanwhile, in the Takamatsu IN / Ogasawara OUT group,
Tomatatsu Construction,
Fujitsu, and
Kosugi Real Estate HD found themselves in a nail-biting tie as well, with each team posting a score of 154 strokes (an average of 38.5 per player). By following the same regulations,
Tomatatsu Construction secured their first victory, led by player
Tomatatsu Junka, who scored a remarkable 36.
Newcomers versus Defending Champions
The tournament may have been fraught with unpredictability, but it brought out the best in each team. Bungotopran, having established a reputation for excellence, directed their focus towards the shortened course format early on, enabling them to perform well under pressure. Conversely, Tomatatsu Construction emerged as a surprise winner, demonstrating resilience and determination to triumph despite the adverse weather conditions.
Both teams showcased how close the competition was, as they fought neck-and-neck with others, emphasizing the elevated level of play across the tournament.
