Yakima Chief Hops Launches the 8th Annual Veterans Blend
YAKIMA, Wash. – June 23, 2025 – Yakima Chief Hops (YCH) has proudly initiated the pre-sale for the 8th Annual Veterans Blend, a specialty hop blend aimed at generating vital funds for U.S. military veterans. This initiative not only highlights the brewing community's commitment to supporting those who have served but also emphasizes the importance of collaboration in creating meaningful impact.
The latest Veterans Blend features a selection of hops carefully curated by veteran brewers within the industry. The current range includes popular hop varieties such as Krush®, Idaho 7®, Citra®, and HBC 1134. The sensory team at YCH anticipates that this year’s blend will boast exciting stone fruit and tropical flavors, complemented by subtle herbal, woody, and floral notes. As the blend evolves, it promises to offer rich sensory experiences that brewers can utilize creatively in their beer recipes.
YCH maintains a long-standing tradition of involving veteran brewers in the selection process, ensuring that their voices are heard. This year, brewers from the community will also help in choosing the charity that will benefit from the proceeds. They have chosen to collaborate with
Soldiers' Angels, an esteemed nonprofit organization dedicated to providing crucial resources and support for U.S. military members, veterans, and their families. Jonathan Sikes, a Marine Veteran and YCH Regional Sales Manager of the Southeast, expressed pride in this collaboration: “Soldiers' Angels offers so many different avenues of support to our veterans. I am honored to be working with them.”
The Heart of Soldiers' Angels
Soldiers' Angels began as a grassroots movement in 2003 when Patti Patton started sending care packages to her son deployed in Iraq. What initially began as a simple care package initiative quickly grew into a comprehensive support network for soldiers and their families. The organization now addresses a wide range of needs, from delivering food and care packages to providing transportation, housing, and holistic support. Amy Palmer, the President and CEO of Soldiers' Angels, emphasizes their mission: “We look to fill gaps that other agencies aren't filling. We try to navigate that for them and ensure they are not stuck in a cycle of red tape.” This dedication serves to alleviate some of the challenges veterans encounter, particularly those related to mental health.
Pre-order Information
The Veterans Blend is available for pre-order until August 25, 2025. Given the limited availability, brewers are encouraged to secure their supply as soon as possible. Interested parties can purchase this year's unique blend at
