By pinpointing these leaks promptly, or by automatically halting the water flow, homeowners can avert minor issues from evolving into significant losses, leading to greater peace of mind.

For insurance carriers, the expanded lineup offers a unified managed service that caters to various home protection requirements. Instead of merely providing technology, Asurion manages the entire experience from identifying optimal devices, coordinating professional installations, monitoring, and providing ongoing support to dealing with alerts.

Breakdown of the LeakProtect Lineup

The new LeakProtect expansion introduces three distinct protection levels:

1. LeakProtect Essential: This tier offers continuous water monitoring and alerts, without the need for a shutoff valve. This option serves homes where a full valve installation may not be feasible or required.

2. LeakProtect Standard: This level adds an automatic shutoff valve to the main water line of a home, leveraging intelligent monitoring to differentiate between regular water usage and potential leaks.

3. LeakProtect XL: Targeted at larger or more complex residences, this variant accommodates properties with larger water mains or multiple points of control.

Through this series, Asurion ensures a managed service encompassing home assessments and device selections, professional installations by licensed plumbers, guided activations, 24/7 proactive monitoring, human reviews of significant alerts, physical discounts for qualifying leaks, warranty administration, and continual technical support.

Collaboration with Phyn

In tandem with this enhancement, Asurion is expanding its collaboration with Phyn, an industry leader in AI-driven water monitoring solutions. Currently, Asurion employs Phyn Plus—a smart water monitoring system capable of automatic shutoff—as part of its LeakProtect Standard. The broadened partnership will integrate Phyn Assist, which offers ongoing monitoring and leak detection, into LeakProtect Essential. Moreover, Phyn Protect XL will be incorporated into LeakProtect XL for larger diameter water lines.
