United Parks & Resorts Shares Third Quarter 2026 Financial Performance and Future Outlook

United Parks & Resorts 2026 Third Quarter Financial Results Report

On November 5, 2026, United Parks & Resorts Inc. (NYSE: PRKS), a major player in the theme park and entertainment sector, released its financial performance report for the third quarter and the first nine months of the fiscal year 2026. Despite facing challenges such as adverse weather conditions, calendar impacts, and reduced international attendance, the company has managed to maintain a significant performance metric in terms of revenue per capita, showcasing its resilient business model.

Third Quarter Highlights

During the third quarter of 2026, United Parks & Resorts welcomed approximately 6.5 million guests, marking a decline of about 320,000 visitors, or 4.7% compared to the same period in 2025. This decrease in attendance can be attributed to unfavorable weather conditions and a strategic reduction in promotional admission products, which collectively contributed to a drop in guest visits.

Despite the decrease in attendance, the company's total revenue stood at $506.5 million, reflecting a slight contraction of $5.4 million or 1.1% year-on-year. Furthermore, the net income for the quarter was reported at $80 million, indicating a 10.5% decline from the previous year.

In terms of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), the company realized an adjusted EBITDA of $205.1 million, down by 5.1% from the same quarter last year. However, the company noted a positive growth in total revenue per visitor, which increased by 3.8% to reach $78.29. Admission revenue per visitor also saw an uptick of 3.4% reaching $40.90, while spending per guest inside the park climbed by an impressive 4.4% to $37.39.

Year-to-Date Financial Summary

For the first nine months of fiscal 2026, United Parks & Resorts reported 15.7 million guest visits, which translates to a decline of approximately 670,000 guests or 4.1% from the prior year. Despite a decrease in attendance and total revenue of $1,268.1 million (down by 1.6% compared to 2025), adjusted EBITDA achieved a noteworthy figure of $458.6 million. The overall net income for this period stood at $109.2 million, witnessing a substantial 28.8% decrease from the same period in 2025, which indicates the financial challenges faced by the company amidst fluctuating market conditions.

Strategic Initiatives and Future Outlook

In light of these results, the CEO, Marc Swanson, expressed confidence in the company's future trajectory. He pointed out that despite the challenges of the previous quarter, the company showed growth in pass sales, which saw an 8% increase. Looking ahead, the company set sights on 2027 with promising trends indicating a strong resurgence in attendance, revenue, and adjusted EBITDA.

The company plans to enhance guest experiences with the launch of new attractions and events aimed at boosting visitor numbers. One notable mention is the new SEAQuest Legends of the Deep attraction at SeaWorld Orlando, designed to provide an immersive underwater adventure. Additionally, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is set to launch Return to Corkscrew Hill, North America's first motion theater ride featuring innovative technology.

Despite the challenges posed by the operating environment, including severe weather impacts and a decrease in promotional admissions, Swanson remains optimistic. He highlighted the ongoing commitment of employees and expressed gratitude for their dedication to making each guest experience memorable, especially through the upcoming holiday season.

United Parks & Resorts remains a leader in the industry, focusing on strategic growth through enhancing guest experiences, animal welfare initiatives, and expanding its portfolio of attractions. With over 43,000 wildlife rescues to date, the company continues to prioritize its mission of conservation alongside entertainment, ensuring that it remains a top destination for visitors while also caring for the environment.

As the company gears up for the holiday season and plans for its future, stakeholders and investors can look forward to interesting developments as United Parks positions itself for recovery and growth in the coming years.
