St. Thomas University Collaborates with Venture Mentoring Team

St. Thomas University (STU) in Miami Gardens, Florida, has announced an exciting new partnership with the Venture Mentoring Team (VMT) to enhance the educational resources available to its aspiring student entrepreneurs. This strategic agreement aims to foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem within the university, providing students with invaluable mentoring and support.

As part of this collaboration, STU students will gain access to VMT's extensive network, which comprises seasoned entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and business experts. The Venture Mentoring Team employs a unique mentoring model that pairs students with teams of experienced mentors who have undergone thorough training and certification. These mentors are dedicated to providing guidance in key areas, including business strategy, fundraising, marketing, and leadership skills.

David A. Armstrong, J.D., President of St. Thomas University, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We are thrilled to partner with the Venture Mentoring Team,” he stated. “At STU, we believe in equipping our students with not just classroom knowledge, but also practical, hands-on experience. This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to develop ethical leaders and change-makers for the future.”

Moreover, the collaboration will enable STU students to participate in workshops, business plan competitions, and networking events, allowing them to acquire practical insights into launching and managing startups. VMT will also provide tailored resources that cater specifically to the needs of early-stage entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the often complex business landscape.

Bob Nelson, Co-Founder and CEO of the Venture Mentoring Team, shared his excitement about extending their mentoring program to STU's dynamic student body. “By working together, we aim to create a supportive environment where students can experiment with new ideas, develop entrepreneurial skills, and ultimately contribute to the growth of Miami's innovation ecosystem,” Nelson said.

This partnership highlights St. Thomas University’s commitment to enhancing social mobility and creating abundant career opportunities for its students, further solidifying Miami's status as a burgeoning hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. STU offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in business and entrepreneurship, both online and on-campus.
