Introducing Honnoren Workshops for Educators
In response to educators’ concerns about nurturing inquiry and dialogue skills in middle, high school, and university students, Kawai Juku and KEI Advance, in partnership with the Editing Engineering Institute, are excited to announce a series of free experience workshops titled "Honnoren." These events will take place from October 2025 to January 2026 in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka.
What is Honnoren?
"Honnoren"—meaning "the connection through books"—is a workshop-based learning tool designed to promote inquiry through dialogue around literature. It focuses on developing essential skills needed in the age of AI, particularly the ability to pose questions and engage in dialogue.
With the rise of generative AI providing easy answers, being able to formulate meaningful questions is becoming more important than ever. The Honnoren program helps participants discover new perspectives and insights by fostering conversations about a selection of books.
Educational Objective
Driven by the intent to shift from traditional answer-seeking education towards a model that prioritizes inquiry, KEI Advance, Kawai Juku, and the Editing Engineering Institute have partnered to create these workshops. The aim is to encourage educators to rethink learning approaches in line with current societal needs and the educational shifts necessitated by advancements in technology.
