The program also included a traditional comedic performance called "kyogen," adding a theatrical touch to the event. Guests were treated to gourmet dishes prepared with high-quality ingredients, including famous Yamagata "wagyu" beef and Oma tuna, elegantly paired with selected sake.
The Art of Tea
A ceremonial demonstration of the Japanese tea tradition was led by an instructor from the Mushakoji Senke school. Guests experienced the beauty of traditional tea tools such as artisan-made Takayama Chasen whisks and regional pottery, giving an insight into the vast craftsmanship that encompasses the tea ceremony. An ikebana floral arrangement in the style of Ikenobo and an impressive bamboo installation from renowned artisan Tanabe Chikuunsai IV further enriched the experience, accentuating the event's dedication to showcasing Japanese culture.
