This event will take place on Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Located at 53 Inman Avenue in Colonia, New Jersey, the Saint Gertrude Cemetery has been recognized for its exceptional beauty and serene environment. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to explore the newly constructed Chapel Mausoleum of the Resurrection, which is designed to inspire moments of prayer, reflection, and remembrance.

Features of the Open House

The event will showcase the stunning features of the Chapel Mausoleum, which boasts 18 exquisite works of sacred art, including a beautifully crafted statue of the Resurrected Christ that greets visitors at the entrance. Inside, elegant marble crypts and glass-front cremation niches create an atmosphere of peace.

One of the highlights of this space is a magnificent stained-glass dome that crowns the altar in the Chapel of the Resurrection—an architectural marvel inspired by the Holy Spirit itself. Beneath the dome lies a marble altar adorned with bronze statues representing the Blessed Virgin Mary surrounded by the Twelve Apostles during Pentecost, making this space not only beautiful but also rich in spiritual significance.

In addition, the Open House will feature the newly opened Chapel of the Ascension, dedicated exclusively to cremation interments and showcasing a striking stained-glass image of Christ ascending into Heaven.
