The Need for Effective Support


Chronic pain is a widespread issue, affecting over 20% of adults globally, yet only a small fraction—less than 4%—receive adequate psychological support. This gap highlights the urgent need for accessible, effective tools to help manage pain beyond conventional medical solutions. Solace aims to fill this void, providing users with personalized assistance directly through the Manage My Pain app.

How Solace Works


Solace utilizes established pain psychology methods, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to engage users in meaningful conversations about their pain experiences. By understanding individual pain profiles, Solace crafts tailored action plans that adapt to the user’s needs over time. This dynamic support system tracks user data to reinforce beneficial skills, maintain adherence to treatment recommendations, and guide progress towards better pain management.

A recent clinical study conducted by the University of Portsmouth confirmed the effectiveness of Solace. Involving 175 participants, the study revealed that even a single 30-minute session resulted in significant improvements across various psychological metrics, including pain resilience, pain acceptance, kinesiophobia (fear of movement), pain interference, and anxiety levels.
