Embrace the Strange: The Oddities and Curiosities Expo in New Orleans

Get ready for an extraordinary experience as the Oddities and Curiosities Expo comes to the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on July 19-20, 2025. This event promises to be a haven for those enchanted by the peculiar and the bizarre.

A Haven for the Peculiar

In its essence, the Oddities and Curiosities Expo is much more than a mere showcase; it is a collection of vibrant curiosities and oddities, drawing in vendors and artists from across the nation. Enthusiasts can expect a delightful array of items that pique curiosity: taxidermy, preserved specimens, dark artistry, antiques, and handcrafted oddities are just the tip of the iceberg.

The expo serves as a platform where the strange and unusual coalesce into a captivating exhibition, encouraging individuals to connect with like-minded enthusiasts celebrating the wonderfully weird. Each year, the expo travels to an impressive 40 cities across the United States and Canada.

An Experience to Remember

Attendees will have ample opportunities to browse and shop for unique finds while engaging in various activities. Not only will participants have access to an exciting shopping experience, but the expo also features enlightening tarot readings, captivating sideshow performances, and numerous concessions to ensure a delightful day.

The Oddities and Curiosities Expo was founded by Michelle and Tony Cozzaglio. Each gathering reflects their commitment to nurturing small businesses and artists specializing in oddities. Michelle expressed, "We created this expo to provide a welcoming space for small businesses and artists, fostering a community that appreciates the weird and wonderful."

Classes and Workshops

Adding to the experience, the expo will also offer day-long classes in taxidermy and entomology, allowing attendees to learn the craft firsthand. These workshops will be hosted by The Sleeping Sirens, where participants will work with ethically sourced specimens, learning the basics of taxidermy and insect pinning. For example, the Jackalope Taxidermy Class takes place on Saturday, July 19. Participants in this class, priced at $225, will create their own full-sized taxidermy mount.

For bug enthusiasts, the Beetles and Spiders Beginner Entomology Class is available on Sunday, July 20, at $150. Students will also receive materials and tools needed for the classes as well as admission to the expo.
