Bridging the Gap in Drug Development

The Biological Reasoning Engine was recently put to the test during an engagement with an oncology-focused biotech firm. The task was to prioritize combinations for a dual-payload antibody-drug conjugate (ADC). The challenge was particularly daunting due to the vast number of possible configurations, but the Ingenix Engine was able to generate 15 potential candidates within minutes. This achievement is remarkable considering that it typically takes years and millions of euros for biotech firms to arrive at similar conclusions through conventional research methods.

The results of this application showed that five of the candidates were already established hypotheses in public literature, while two had some literature support albeit not widely recognized. Impressively, three of the proposed candidates had been internally validated through experiments by the biotech partner, although they had not been published publicly. Notably, the analysis also surfaced five novel hypotheses that had never been considered by the biotech team before, highlighting the Engine's ability to uncover new pathways in research.
