Group Exhibition 'EPOCH - You Were Here.' Showcasing Contemporary Artists

EPOCH - You Were Here.

From July 9 to August 4, 2025, the renowned Ginza Mitsukoshi department store in Tokyo will host an exciting group exhibition titled 'EPOCH - You Were Here.' This exhibition showcases the works of three prominent contemporary artists: KAZUSA MATSUYAMA, RYOSUKE MISAURA, and RYOTEN OGAITA. Organized by Embedded Blue Inc., an agency known for its commitment to marrying art with social commentary, this exhibition aims to explore the evolving roles of art in society and challenge existing visual languages.

Concept of EPOCH

The term 'EPOCH' relates to a specific moment in astronomy that helps determine the positions of celestial bodies. In this context, it represents a conceptual framework for the artists to capture their current perspectives and navigate the trajectory of their work amid an ever-changing world. This exhibition serves not only as a showcase of artistic talent but also acts as a compass pointing toward the signs of transformation occurring within our times.

Exhibition Themes and Objectives

The title 'You Were Here.' embodies the exhibition's goal of creating a 'record of beginnings' for both the artwork and its audience. Through their unique styles, each artist invites viewers to engage with their creations on a personal level, fostering contemplation and dialogue about the contemporary issues that art can illuminate.
