Sonic's 34th Anniversary Celebration in PSO2 NGS

On June 18, 2025, SEGA launched a special update for their popular game, Cem>Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis ver.2, to celebrate the 34th birthday of the iconic character, Sonic the Hedgehog. From June 18 until July 2, players can participate in new limited-time quests, earn exciting in-game items, and take part in various celebrations across the game world.

Special Limited-Time Quests

Two special quests, "Special Training: Sonic Sprint" and "Special Training: Shadow Sprint", will be available on alternating days. Both quests have been revamped, featuring new enemies and challenge levels. Players will explore the vast regions of Halfa, collecting rings and Chaos Emeralds along the way, which enhance their abilities and earn quest points. It’s essential to gather as many resources as possible to prepare for the formidable boss battle that awaits at the end of each quest. Noteworthy is the unique background music in "Special Training: Shadow Sprint", adding to the overall enjoyment.

Earn Unique Cosmetics and Items

In addition to the thrilling quests, players can complete title and limited-time tasks to earn unique rewards. Among the coveted prizes are the gear piece “Riconizza Nebula V2[Ba]”, hair style “Blindfold Asymmetric Perm”, and several accessories including “Red Arm Wrap” and “Huge T Sword Unit.” It should be noted that the “Riconizza Nebula V2[Ba]” differs from previously sold items, being exclusive to this special event.

This year's festivities also include the return of Sonic-themed decorations in Central City, ensuring a jubilant atmosphere to commemorate Sonic's birthday alongside fellow players.

Revival AC Scratch Releases

Sega All-Star Revival

From June 18 to July 2, players can also take part in the “Sega All-Star Revival.” This event features a re-distribution of items modeled after Sega's beloved characters for use in NGS. Players will be able to roll the scratch ticket for free once during the sale period, so be sure to log in and collect those exclusive items!

Face Fashion Revival

The “Face Fashion Revival” presents a collection of previously released NGS eye styles, make-up patterns, eyebrows, and eyelashes, along with accessories for enhanced face customization. Players can also enjoy fresh character creation options with the newly added "Animatics Face" feature.
