Elbit Systems Secures $200 Million in Airborne ISTAR and Training Contracts in Asia-Pacific

Elbit Systems Secures $200 Million in Airborne ISTAR Contracts

Elbit Systems Ltd. has recently secured substantial contracts totaling approximately $200 million, aimed at providing advanced airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) solutions to a country within the Asia-Pacific region. This announcement marks a significant enhancement of operational capabilities for clients in dynamic environments, underscoring Elbit Systems' commitment to delivering cutting-edge military technology.

Contract Overview

The awarded contracts are poised to extend over a period of up to five years, reflecting a long-term partnership between Elbit Systems and its client. Central to this contract is the provision of the SPECTRO™ 12, a state-of-the-art multispectral Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) payload specifically designed for helicopters. This latest addition to the SPECTRO family introduces a compact payload tailored for platforms that demand stringent constraints on size, weight, and power.

The SPECTRO 12 is engineered to combine high-resolution multispectral sensing with precision targeting technologies, including a Laser designator. Coupled with artificial intelligence-driven image processing, the system facilitates long-range target detection, identification, and tracking, even in challenging operational conditions and adverse weather.

Training Solutions and Support

Beyond the ISTAR capabilities, the contractual agreement encompasses ongoing support and upgrade services for airborne live training systems already implemented on aircraft. These training systems are integral to live virtual constructive and virtual combat training scenarios, facilitating realistic air-to-air and air-to-ground exercises. Key features include real-time combat simulation, weapon scoring, and the ability to conduct mission debriefings, significantly improving pilot readiness and training efficiency.

Additionally, the contract specifies the supply of advanced Head-Up Display (HUD) systems, which are equipped with high-resolution display technologies, enhanced video capabilities, and low power consumption. These HUD systems enhance operational effectiveness, enabling both day and night operations across various airborne platforms.

A Message from Leadership

Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, expressed pride in the company's continued provision of sophisticated airborne solutions. He highlighted that these technologies, grounded in extensive operational experience across diverse mission environments, play a pivotal role in boosting mission effectiveness, situational awareness, and operational readiness for a vast array of airborne missions.
