Introduction to SmartSpeed Precise
On April 11th, 2023, Philips Japan unveiled its latest MRI technology,
'SmartSpeed Precise', designed to revolutionize the speed and quality of MRI imaging. Leveraging advanced AI capabilities, this innovative system aims to offer healthcare professionals improved diagnostic capabilities and subsequently contribute to enhanced patient care.
The Power of Dual AI Engine
At the heart of
SmartSpeed Precise is its cutting-edge
'Dual AI Engine', which integrates two distinctive AI engines developed by Philips for optimal performance. Building on previous technologies such as
Compressed SENSE and
SmartSpeed, this new model employs a unified reconstruction pipeline that seamlessly combines various techniques to enhance both imaging speed and clarity. Specifically, the system incorporates denoising, artifact reduction, and blurring reduction techniques all optimized into a single pipeline.
Key Features of SmartSpeed Precise
1. Enhanced Speed: Up to 67% Faster Imaging
Utilizing the advantages of Compressed SENSE and optimized sampling patterns,
SmartSpeed Precise successfully reduces the imaging time by an impressive
67%. The first AI engine, known as
Adaptive-CS-NET, intelligently processes specific noise types through advanced denoising algorithms, thus maintaining a high Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). This significant reduction in imaging time not only enhances efficiency in clinical settings but also minimizes patient discomfort during the MRI procedure.
2. Superior Image Quality: Over 80% Improvement in Clarity
The second AI engine, referred to as
Precise Image Net, focuses on eliminating ringing artifacts and significantly enhancing spatial resolution. By transitioning from traditional filtering and zero-filling methods to AI-enhanced techniques, this technology provides an unprecedented enhancement of up to
80% in apparent spatial resolution. This advancement allows for clearer imagery and greater detail, which are essential for precise diagnostic assessments.
