Free Entry Day for University Students at Canon Museum Campus Featuring Impressionism Exhibit

On November 25, 2025, the Canon Museum Campus will offer a unique opportunity for university students to experience the world of Impressionism without any admission fee. This special free admission day, designed specifically for students including undergraduates, graduate students, and those from specialized institutions, allows them to explore the exhibition titled 'Impressionism: Stories Around Interiors,' hosted at the National Museum of Western Art. This event is particularly significant as it marks the 11th edition of the initiative, which takes place on a museum's scheduled closing day to encourage young individuals to engage with art and cultivate an appreciation for it.

The exhibition showcases around 70 extraordinary works from the iconic Orsay Museum in Paris, including pieces that have never been exhibited in Japan before. Visitors can expect to see masterpieces from renowned artists such as Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Paul Cézanne. A highlight of this exhibit is the debut of the vibrant work 'Family Portrait (Berthelot Family)' by a young Degas, a true gem for art enthusiasts.

In addition to the treasures from the Orsay Museum, important works from domestic and international collections, including the National Museum of Western Art and the Impressionism Museum in Giverny, France, will also be on display.
