Background and Purpose of the Forum
Japan's regional healthcare faces complex challenges, such as a declining population, limited geographic distribution of physicians, financial constraints on hospital management, and advancements in medical digitization (DX). To address these issues, a critical shift from hospitalization-centered systems to regional healthcare systems that organically collaborate within healthcare, caregiving, and living support functions is necessary. Healthcare malls have emerged as a new healthcare delivery model, promising the integration of medical functions through the synergy of clinic aggregation, information sharing, functional distribution, and spatial design.
This forum will discuss the implementation conditions and challenges of regional healthcare innovation by framing healthcare malls as cross-disciplinary integrations of medical, informational, and social systems. The discussions will encompass theoretical perspectives on policy and system design, market analyses based on data, and operational practices within healthcare environments.
Target Audience
The forum warmly welcomes anyone interested in the future of regional healthcare and new healthcare delivery models, especially:
- - Operators and planners of healthcare malls
- - Executives of clinics or hospitals
- - Real estate and development professionals involved in healthcare facilities
- - Government officials engaged in regional healthcare policy and urban development
- - Researchers and students in the fields of healthcare, information technology, and social systems.
