Experience the Enchantment of 'Sakurarium'
On April 18, 2026, a magical event called
'Sakurarium' will take place at Funabashi Racecourse in Chiba, Japan. Hosted by
Red Cliff Inc., this unique drone show is poised to transform the night sky into a breathtaking canvas of blooming cherry blossoms with the help of up to
2,000 drones.
The concept behind 'Sakurarium' is to create an unforgettable experience for loved ones, inviting spectators to witness a stunning visual display that combines technology and nature. Unlike traditional cherry blossom viewing, which focuses on observing nature, the event encourages participation, allowing guests to dive into an immersive spring experience.
A Dazzling Display of Technology and Nature
The standout feature of
'Sakurarium' is the evening cherry blossom aerial performance. With drones forming cherry blossoms that span approximately
150 meters in height and
230 meters in width, the scale of this production far exceeds anything available at traditional cherry blossom festivals.
The drone show will be conducted in
two parts: a captivating
opening show featuring
500 drones, and a
special performance that will dazzle the audience with a full display of
2,000 drones beginning at 8:20 PM. Each segment promises to envelop attendees in a stunning array of colors.
Engaging Activities and Exclusive Experiences
Attendees can look forward to interactive content and activities designed to enhance their enjoyment of the event. One unique aspect is a
cheers activity alongside a mascot named
Sakura-chan, encouraging attendees to toast while participating in a stamp campaign. Collecting stamps will lead to creative prizes, ensuring that everyone feels like part of the action.
The participatory nature of the event strengthens its appeal as a new way to enjoy cherry blossoms.
Exclusive Perks for Attendees
'Sakurarium' will offer special items to enhance visitors' experiences:
- - Glow-in-the-Dark Drink Cups: Inspired by the event, these cups illuminate pink when filled with drink, coordinating beautifully with the nighttime drone display.
- - Petal-Shaped Picnic Blankets: Collaborating with the Sakura Project by Weather News, guests can create cherry blossom visuals by laying out five petal-shaped blankets, enhancing the ambiance of the venue.
With more than
10 food trucks on site, a variety of delicious treats and drinks will be available. Unique cherry blossom-themed menus will also be offered, providing a delightful journey of flavors that celebrate the season.
Reviving the Cherry Blossom Experience all Spring
As for the cherry blossoms in 2026, they are expected to bloom around the end of March in the Kanto region, allowing 'Sakurarium' to serve as a fresh way for people to savor the final moments of cherry blossom beauty in a new and innovative form.
