Exciting Partnership Between Two Karaoke Companies

The stage is set for the upcoming MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026, as two leading karaoke companies, Excing Co., Ltd. and Daiichi Kosho Co., Ltd., join forces once again. This year, they will collaborate as prize partners to present the special Karaoke Award, building on their successful partnership from the previous year.

The MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN, which is organized by the Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA), represents the largest international music award in Japan. Established by five major organizations within the Japanese music industry, the awards aim to honor a wide array of musical works. The second edition of the MAJ2026 will take place on June 13, featuring the award ceremony at the TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO and the SGC Hall Ariake.

MAJ2026 will not only include major categories like "Best Song" and "Best Artist," but it will also encompass over 70 categories dedicated to various genres and themes, recognizing a rich diversity of musical content. Notably, the "Co-Creation Category" will celebrate collaborations between various companies and organizations in the music sector, fostering a vibrant musical culture.

As partners for the MAJ2026, Excing and Daiichi Kosho will jointly present the special Karaoke Award, titled "Karaoke of the Year powered by DAM & JOYSOUND." This award will showcase the top karaoke songs in two divisions: J-Pop and Enka/Classical Japanese songs.

In a refreshed approach to the entry song selection process for this year, songs released in 2025 will be considered. From December 2025 to January 2026, the top 30 most sung tracks will be identified in each category based on karaoke performance data. The winner for each division will be determined by the song with the highest number of performances from March 19 to May 31, 2026.

This year's awards aim to reflect the trends in karaoke consumption during the popular end-of-year and new-year parties, making the awards not only unique but also highly relevant to current market dynamics.

Moreover, both companies plan to implement a joint campaign connected to the "Karaoke of the Year powered by DAM & JOYSOUND." This initiative aims to boost awareness and encourage singing of the entry songs. Participants who sing these selected tracks will have a chance to win tickets to attend the MAJ2026 award ceremony.

The campaign, designed to enhance fans' experiences and ease of participation, will engage music lovers in a fun way through karaoke.

Through this collaboration, both Excing and Daiichi Kosho are committed to further developing Japanese music culture while actively engaging fans in the excitement of MAJ2026.

Selection Process

Entry Songs

• - Selection Period: From December 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
• - Eligible Tracks: Songs released between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
• - Singing data from DAM and JOYSOUND will be aggregated to determine the top 30 songs in each department.

Karaoke Special Award

• - Calculation Period: From March 19 to May 31, 2026.
• - The songs that were sung the most within the entry songs on the DAM and JOYSOUND platforms will be honored.

• - Campaign Period: From March 19 (Thursday) to May 20 (Wednesday) 2026.
• - Participating Stores: All locations that have DAM and JOYSOUND systems across the nation.
• - Prizes:

- Prize A: Tickets for MAJ2026 (pair) for both the Premium Ceremony and Grand Ceremony; 10 pairs available (20 individuals in total).
- Prize B: Grand Ceremony tickets (pair); 15 pairs available (30 individuals in total).
