September marks the 'Disability Employment Support Month,' and in recognition of this, Leverag e's Workclear service is hosting a seminar titled 'Hints for Taking a Step Toward Employment for Increasing Number of Individuals with Mental and Developmental Disabilities' on September 8, 2025.
Background of the Event
The demand for change in the employment of individuals with disabilities is at an all-time high, focusing on both the 'quantity' and 'approach' facets. By July 2026, the legal employment rate is set to rise from the current 2.5% to 2.7%. However, a survey conducted by Workclear revealed that about 70% of the companies qualified for the bracket have yet to begin preparations for this increase.
Moreover, the 'approach' aspect has become increasingly critical. There has been a significant uptick in job seekers with mental and developmental disabilities, making traditional management techniques ineffective. Hence, there is a pressing need for specialized approaches tailored to the unique characteristics of each individual, such as better communication and workplace design.
At Workclear, we have been addressing these complex challenges with our unique know-how. We currently support around 150 young individuals with mental and developmental disabilities, many of whom are entering the workforce for the first time. Our belief in each person's potential has led to a considerable organizational growth of 180% over the last two years. Additionally, we proudly report a high employee retention rate of 90.7%.
With these factors in mind, our September seminar aims to provide insights for employers who are either currently promoting or are set to begin efforts in hiring individuals with disabilities.
