Sayari Transforms Commercial World Model with Snowflake for AI-Driven Insight
Sayari Transforms the Commercial World Model
In a groundbreaking move, Sayari, a leader in economic security and commercial risk assessment, has announced a strategic partnership with Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company. This collaboration aims to revolutionize Sayari’s Commercial World Model, a comprehensive map that details global companies, the individuals behind them, and their trade networks.
The transition to Snowflake's platform marks a significant upgrade for Sayari, allowing the integration of over a decade’s worth of primary-source data. This data includes an astounding 12 billion records derived from 715 sources operating in 250 jurisdictions. Through this ambitious rebuild, Sayari is poised to create an AI-ready foundation for all its products, enabling quicker, more profound insights into commercial networks globally.
For those unfamiliar, Sayari's archive consists of around 1 billion original documents. These include crucial corporate filings, government gazettes, and shipping records, all retained in their original formats. Over the last decade, Sayari has developed intricate extraction pipelines designed to meticulously parse these documents, identifying companies, key individuals, and their complex interrelations with a level of precision that its clients have come to trust. However, traditional methods of deterministic extraction are not without limitations. Sayari estimates that as much as 75% of the valuable context and patterns hidden within these documents were previously inaccessible. Thanks to recent advancements in AI technologies, this wealth of information is now within reach, and leveraging Snowflake's capabilities allows Sayari to analyze its entire database in one fell swoop rather than incrementally by document.
The implications of this development are monumental. Sayari’s clientele includes not just corporations, but also national intelligence agencies that depend on their insights for critical decision-making. With the revamped platform, users will be able to probe deeper and faster, uncovering risks and opportunities across supply chains and business relationships more efficiently than before. This comprehensive view will allow for the tracing of ownership back farther, revealing new classes of risk intelligence that were previously undetectable. Each finding will be meticulously traceable back to primary sources, ensuring clients can trust the integrity of the data.
The Commercial World Model will bring together this vast array of data into a cohesive, continuously updated repository. Sayari will source this information directly from official channels, such as corporate registries and customs bureaus, in more than 20 languages and scripts. Perhaps most notably, this data includes deep web information that has often remained unindexed by traditional search engines and general-purpose AI tools trained on the more accessible web. In many cases, these records are no longer available from their original publishers, making Sayari's archive a crucial resource.
Complementing this rebuild is Sayari’s in-house engineering team, which utilized Snowflake CoCo, an AI coding assistant, to expedite the migration process. According to the company’s projections, this transition is expected to halve their data infrastructure costs, marking a win-win situation both technologically and financially.
As Jessie Abell, Chief Product Officer of Sayari, aptly noted, "Fortune 100 companies and national intelligence agencies rely on Sayari for decisions that carry real consequences. Over the past decade, we built an archive of records nobody else has, but most of those records have been out of reach. Rebuilding the Commercial World Model on Snowflake lets us read all of it at global scale. Later this year, we will introduce products built on this foundation that deliver finished answers customers can trace, verify, and defend."
Jennifer Chronis, the Vice President for Snowflake’s U.S. Public Sector, further emphasized the uniqueness of Sayari’s data asset, stating, "AI is only as powerful as the data behind it. Sayari has built something you can't replicate with a model alone – a proprietary data asset that the world's largest organizations trust for their most consequential decisions."
The current global landscape of trade wars, sanctions, and heightened geopolitical tensions has dramatically altered the risk profile for companies and governments alike. Organizations increasingly need a clear understanding of the ownership structures underlying every enterprise with which they engage. The revamped Commercial World Model stands as a robust framework for this vital intelligence gathering.
In conclusion, Sayari is not merely revamping its data model; it is laying the groundwork for advanced analytical products that will enhance clients' ability to navigate the complexities of modern commerce safely. As this model develops, it is anticipated to set new standards in risk assessment and intelligence within the commercial realm.
