Chainlink and LG CNS Join Forces to Transform Korea's Digital Asset Ecosystem

Chainlink, a leading oracle platform recognized for its industry standards, has officially partnered with LG CNS, a prominent AI transformation and IT service provider in South Korea. This collaboration aims to bolster the digital asset market of Korea, which boasts a value of approximately $68 billion. Under the partnership, LG CNS and Chainlink will expand the scope and distribution of Korean stablecoins, thereby connecting over 11 million eligible users within the digital asset space.

The partnership is set against the backdrop of Korea’s emergence as Asia's second-largest digital asset market, a position supported by strong trading activity in the Korean won. This currency is consistently ranked second for trading volume in the crypto market, just after the U.S. dollar.

Three Focus Areas of the Partnership
The strategic alliance between Chainlink and LG CNS will focus on three main areas:
1. Oracle Infrastructure for Digital Asset Solutions: Chainlink’s cross-chain and orchestration technologies will significantly enhance LG CNS's digital asset platform, ensuring secure connections between various blockchain networks and institutional systems.
2. Advancing Technical Standards: Both companies will collaborate to set forth new technical standards that will govern Korea’s digital asset ecosystem. This effort aims to define how the digital economy interacts with both regulatory and market frameworks.
3. Institutional Solutions Development: Leveraging their expertise, Chainlink and LG CNS will work together to develop standards for oracle functionality, interoperability, and cross-chain connectivity, essential for scaling digital assets within South Korea’s regulated environment.

Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating, "Korea is one of the most active and technologically advanced digital asset markets globally. By merging LG CNS's financial expertise with Chainlink's technical standards, we are setting a solid foundation for compliant digital asset infrastructure in Korea. This partnership will enable secure and reliable transitions for tokenized assets across various systems."

Furthermore, Hongkeun Kim, Executive Vice President at LG CNS, emphasized the readiness of South Korea’s financial infrastructure to enter the tokenization era, denoting that both companies will accelerate the development of tokenized securities. The initiative is geared towards not only enhancing local operations but also establishing the potential for international expansion.

The Impact of Chainlink and LG CNS
As part of LG Group, one of South Korea's largest conglomerates with assets totaling ₩186 trillion, LG CNS is ideally positioned at the forefront of Korea's technological landscape. Currently, LG CNS leads the Bank of Korea’s Project Hangang, an initiative set to revolutionize the nation’s digital currency infrastructure. Following the project’s initial phase, which included 80,000 customers from seven major banks, LG CNS aims to integrate Chainlink’s oracle capabilities into digital asset solutions, positioning itself as a prominent developer of institutional digital currency systems.
